Kathleen Osofsky of Pine Plains died on Sept. 14. She was 77.

Osofsky was born on Oct. 8, 1948, the daughter of Jack and Harriet Freney, and grew up in Pine Plains. She married Ronald Osofsky in 1971. He and his brother, Rick Osofsky, developed Ronnybrook Farm into a major supplier of unhomogenized milk, in glass bottles, both a return to old-time dairy production and at the same time both were innovations in modern dairying. He died in 2022.

Osofsky is survived by a daughter, Carey (Brian) Alberg; two sons, Daniel (Jennifer) Osofsky and Jonathan Osofsky; four grandchildren: Grace Alberg, Tatum Osofsky, Jack Osofsky and Ronan Osofsky; two sisters: Ann (Curtis) Simmons and Natalie (Zipp) Guernsey; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family asked that memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics; the Ronald Osofsky Memorial Fund, created after his death to support families facing lifechanging health issues requiring organ donation, at 229 Fordham Road, Valatie, N.Y. 12184; or to the charity of one’s choice. A celebration of her life will be private.
