
James C. (Jim Ba) Miller of Pine Plains died on Aug. 29. He was 67.
Miller was born in Sharon, Conn., on July 23, 1959, the son of Homer and Helen (Pelkey) Miller. He attended Pine Plains Central School. He worked at Camp Pontiac in West Copake and the Wassaic State School before going to work for David Boice Home Lawn Care. He also was a bartender at the Ancram Tavern and was a longtime member of the Ancram Fire Department
He is survived by his companion of more than 40 years, Lois Bogue; a son, Jaime (Crystal) Miller; two grandchildren, Erika Miller and Jay Miller; three stepchildren; two brothers, Mike Miller and John Miller; three sisters, Sally Watchtel, Rosie Gansowski and Joann Hoyte; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents and by his sisters, Annie Miller, Stella Slater, and Betty Slater.
Visiting hours will be on Sept. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 S. Main St., Pine Plains, New York. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. There will be a celebration of his life on Sept. 19 from noon until 4 p.m. at the Ancram Fire Department.
