Voters in the Pine Plains Central School District approved a $12.9 million capital project proposal on Wednesday, Oct. 15, authorizing a slate of building and site improvements aimed at maintaining safe and modern school facilities.
The measure passed 200–58, according to results released by the district.
The project allows the district to undertake renovations and upgrades across multiple campuses, including roof and elevator work at Stissing Mountain Junior/Senior High School, resurfacing the track and tennis courts, replacing the gym floor and bleachers, and improving the high school courtyard. Plans also call for a new concession building with indoor restrooms between the football stadium and baseball fields.
Of the total project cost, $9.1 million will come from the district’s capital reserve fund, while up to $3.8 million will be financed through bonds, the district said. District officials have emphasized that the plan leverages state aid and existing reserves to minimize any tax impact on residents.

I hope the board and administration is not patting themselves on the back.
The single voting location does not make it easy for taxpayers to exercise
their privilege . It is especially hard on seniors. The PPCSD Board should
make it a goal to find away to enable voting in each town in its district.
