Pine Plains dominated on both sides of the ball Monday, Sept. 14, defeating Rockland 49-0 at Stissing Mountain High School.

Senior Brent Macri led the offense with 120 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground, along with 60 receiving yards and another touchdown. Senior quarterback Anthony Martucci threw for 140 yards and two touchdowns while adding 12 rushing yards and a touchdown of his own. Martucci also scored a two-point conversion.

Senior Josiah Ramirez contributed 50 rushing yards and a touchdown, along with two two-point conversions. Senior Jace Hurst finished with 80 receiving yards and a touchdown, while senior Larry Margitas added eight rushing yards and senior Will Tompkins carried for six.

Pine Plains’ defense kept Rockland off the scoreboard while forcing several turnovers. Junior Jack Jones recorded an interception and returned a fumble recovery for a touchdown. Junior Payton Shea and sophomore Colton Smith each forced a fumble, while Tompkins blocked a punt.

Ramirez led Pine Plains with 10 tackles. Senior Edelthom PulidoPalma recorded seven tackles and senior Jackson St. Bernard added six. Macri, Jones, Shea and Smith each finished with four tackles, while Tompkins had two and Margitas had one.

Junior kicker Vicente Mercado recorded a 60-yard touchback on a kickoff, a 40-yard punt and made an extra point.

The Bombers travel to Morningside Park on Friday, Sept. 18 where they will play against Fallsburg.
