Laurie Kalanges of Pine Plains died on Sept. 22. She was 65.
Kalanges was born in Middletown, N.Y., to Thomas and Mary (Swindell) Kalanges on Jan. 13, 1960. She graduated from Pine Bush (N.Y.) High School and moved to Pine Plains in 1995. She worked for Hipotronics, Inc., and then for many years at the state Taconic Developmental Disability Services Office.
She is survived by her children, Christopher Kalanges and Katey Longo, and two grandchildren, Charlie and Hayes. A brother, Thomas Cutler, died before her.
The family plans a celebration of her life at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (afsp.org).
