
Luane “Doll” Ballantine of Pine Plains died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center on June 9. She was 64.
Ballantine was born on June 29, 1961, in Rhinebeck to Louis Remsburger and Shirley (Fahey) Remsburger and grew up in Pine Plains, graduating from Stissing Mountain High School in 1979. She then attended Dutchess Community College, where she received an associate’s degree, and then graduated from Marist College summa cum laude with a degree in English in 1983.
She worked for more than 25 years as a legal administrative assistant with the Law Offices of Warren S. Replansky, P.C.
Ballantine is survived by her daughters, Brenna (Mikey) Vincent and Marina Ballantine; a grandson, Levi Vincent; a brother, Mike (Wendy) Remsburger; a sister, Kathi D’Amato; and her longtime companion, Mike Meiller; and a niece and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 15 at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 S. Main St., Pine Plains. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on June 16 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, Pine Plains. A private inurnment will take place with immediate family only at Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains.
A celebration of life luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. on June 16 at the Inn at Pine Plains.
The family asked that donations in Ballantine’s memory be made to Willow Roots and Helen Hayes Hospital.
