Pine Plains was on full display Saturday, Oct. 11, as Stissing Mountain Jr./Sr. High School hosted the annual FFA Fall Agricultural Festival, a long-standing tradition honoring the region’s farming heritage and youth leadership.

Organized by the Pine Plains FFA, the event highlights the importance of agriculture in local life and celebrates students who have demonstrated outstanding ability in agricultural enterprises.

The day began with a parade from Seymour Smith Elementary to the high school, followed by a full slate of attractions that drew families and visitors from across Dutchess County. The festival grounds featured a flower show by the Pine Plains Garden Club, an antique tractor pull, and a horse-pulling contest. Food booths lined the lawn alongside a chicken barbecue hosted by the Pine Plains Hose Company, and children gathered for the popular pet show.

More than a showcase of skill and livestock, the festival served as a reminder of Pine Plains’ deep agricultural roots and its commitment to cultivating the next generation of farmers and community leaders.
