Bonnie J. Stedt of Pine Plains and Aiken, S.C., died on Sept. 5. She was 81.
Stedt was born on Oct. 25, 1943, in southern California. She was the daughter of Arthur R. and Antoinette Verbraggen Stedt. She started a long and successful business career at I. Magnin in San Francisco before moving to Filene’s Department Store in Boston, and then to American Express, where she retired as head of human resources and executive vice president.
Stedt also owned Foxrace Farm in Amenia and was a competitive equestrian and a vice president of the Millbrook Hunt. Stedt is survived by a niece, Shannon Casey. A brother Larry Stedt, died before her.
