Walter J. Grassie of Milan died on May 23 at the Baptist Home in Rhinebeck. He was 85.
Born June 17, 1939, in Brooklyn, Grassie was the son of Walter and Elsie (Torboli) Grassie.
After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army. Subsequently, Grassie worked for Consolidated Edison at the Indian Point power plant in Buchanan, N.Y., until retiring in 1985.
Grassie is survived by his wife, Marijane Grassie; four children, George (Michelle) Grassie, Gale Sickler, Albert (Debbie) Cotto, and Christine Daughtry; a brother, Eugene Grassie of Florida; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three nephews. A brother, Raymond Grassie, predeceased him.
