It might surprise you to learn that the Stewart’s Shop in Pine Plains is one of the very busiest stores of the company’s over 350 locations in New York and Southern Vermont. It is not surprising then that Stewart’s is proposing a major upgrade of its Pine Plains operation.
The company hopes to build an entirely new 4,500 sq. ft. building directly behind its current store. When it is finished, the current building (about 3,200 sq. ft.) will be razed and the gas pumps moved from their current location to a spot nearer the new building.
Stewart’s appeared before the Pine Plains Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) on December 27 to begin the approval process and are expected to be at the next ZBA meeting on January 24 to continue their quest.
