Shirley D. Coons of Ancram died on July 5. She was 92.
Coons was born on Feb. 4, 1932, the daughter of Edward “Lyle” and Jessie (Phillips) Decker.
Coons is survived by her daughter, Geri Gervais, of Ancram; two grandsons, Jered Gervais, of Texas, and Jonathan Gervais, of Kingston; three great granddaughters, Leah, Ava, and Sorina; a sister, Renee Coons; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her husband, Gerald J. Coons, died before her, as did her siblings, Leatrice Yorchuck, Leon Decker, Alan Decker, Richard Decker and Carl Decker.
A celebration of her life is being planned for the coming weeks.
