Shirley A. Vazquez of Pine Plains died on Aug. 21. She was 80.
Vasquez was born on June 19, 1945, in Poughkeepsie, the daughter of Hebron and Viola
Murphy. She worked at Sharon Hospital, in Sharon, Conn., holding a variety of positions and
retiring as head of housekeeping.
Vasquez is survived by six children: Patrick Murphy, Arthur (Tracy) Wilcox, Dean Wilcox, Anita
Farnham, Damian (Melinda) Vazquez and Jannet Vazquez; 10 grandchildren: Adam, Dan,
Preston, Harlie, Devon, Dariann, Isaac, Lilianah, Tyler, and Katie; a brother, William (Clarice)
Murphy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A brother, Larry Murphy, and a sister, Daisy
Savoy, died before her.
