State Troopers and postal inspectors descended on the Stanfordville post office. They came in the wake of thieves who struck the preceding night. About $3,000 is gone, according to Jack Micelli of the Dover State Trooper barracks. Whoever did the job came in through a side window some time between 11:30 PM and daybreak. They moved the safe to a “more secluded” part of the office, flipped it over on its side and “peeled” it with tools. There was no evidence of explosives.
