Rosa B. Glorius died on May 17 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 88.

Glorius was born on Sept. 4, 1936, in Germany, the daughter of Joseph and Franziska (Rottmaier) Welz. She immigrated to the United States in 1956 by way of Ellis Island and settled in New York City with her sister Anna.

She was an active member of the Stanfordville Forever Young group and the Stanfordville Garden Club.

Glorius is survived by a son, Christian (Julia) Glorius; Annette (James Patrick) Glorius; six grandchildren: Christiana Glorius, Kevin Glorius-Patrick, Alexander Glorius, Karin Glorius-Patrick, Kyle Glorius-Patrick, and Athena Glorius; and one great-grandchild, Theodore J Geithner Glorius. Her husband of almost 55 years, Gerhard J. Glorius, died in 2013.

The family requested that donations be made in Glorius’s memory to the American Kidney Foundation.
