
Robert E. Stapf Sr., known as “Bobbo,” died on April 9. He was 77.
Stapf was born Jan. 16, 1949, to Peter and Dorothy (Fountain) Stapf. He graduated from Pine Plains Central School. He met his wife, Sandy Snyder, in seventh grade and they were married on Sept. 18, 1971. She survives him.
He worked as a diesel mechanic at H.O. Penn and then Dutchess County Diesel for most of his career.
Besides his wife, Stapf is survived by four children: Michelle (Vinnie) Cianfarani, Robin (Rob) Stapf, Robert (Jean) Stapf Jr. and Kristofer (Lauren) Stapf; seven grandchildren: Zachary, Adriana, Mackenzie, Addison, “Bobcat,” Audrey and Maddie; and two great grandchildren: Nevaeh and Leiana. He is also survived by three sisters: Barbara (Everett) Holdridge, Debbie (Terry) Bryant and Wendy (George) Lind; two brothers: Peter (Donna) Stapf and John (Jane) Stapf (Jane); and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be on April 21 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 S. Main St., Pine Plains.
The family asked that In lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice Care for continued support to those who need it most.
