“Something Rotten” is a play about two brothers who are living in Shakespeare’s shadow as aspiring playwrights. In the play, they create the first musical to differentiate themselves from Shakespeare’s style of writing. Stissing Mountain Junior/Senior High School and Stissing Theatre Guild took this play on and brought it to the stage for Pine Plains to enjoy on the first weekend of March.
The nerves and anxiety that are common leading up to opening night can be reduced by friends and support from fellow crew and cast members. I interviewed Coraline Dellamore, who is part of the cast. “Working on memorizing our lines is hard but having friends there makes it a lot easier,” she told me.
The staff and actors work and rehearse every week and sometimes even on Saturdays! The cast works hard and long hours to put on these performances, so come show your appreciation on March 7, 8 or 9 by buying tickets to the play!
