The Pine Plains varsity softball team defeated Burke Catholic 10-1 on Friday at Mount Saint Mary College, powered by a dominant complete-game performance from Talia Durant and a 14-hit showing from the Bombers’ lineup.

Durant struck out 14 batters, allowed one hit and one run, and walked one over seven innings. She also helped lead the offense, driving in two runs. Peyton Burton went 3-for-4 and also drove in two runs, while Eliza Baden and Addy Farinaccio each had multiple hits for Pine Plains.

The Bombers built an early lead and continued to add on through the first three innings, getting contributions throughout the order. Pine Plains next plays for the regional championship at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at Monroe-Woodbury High School.
