Police have confirmed a burglary was committed in the early hours of Feb. 16 at the Stewart’s convenience store and gas station located on South Main Street. Aaron Hicks, the public information officer for Troop K of the State Police — which covers Columbia, Dutchess, Putnam, and Westchester counties — said the police were notified of the break-in at 7:13 a.m., and that the burglary was believed to have been committed while the store was closed, between midnight and 4:30 a.m. No further details were available. The case is under investigation. Stewart’s has resumed normal operations.
