The “boys,” some of whom are old enough to vote, had a “very funny time” on Halloween. No one objects to a little harmless sport, or even a degree of mischief, so long as it is not carried too far, but when it comes to destroying property, tearing window blinds from their hinges, or tearing to pieces horseblocks and their steps, it ceases to be fun and becomes vandalism, for which there is no excuse. It is said that a pistol shot near a residence on Church Street scared some of the fun raisers so that they ran home quite lively.
