The New Pine Plains Herald is a non-profit, non-partisan news site whose volunteer staff works to produce journalism that you can count on every week. As a reader, you already know that this is important work—and that it wouldn’t be possible without your support.

Our year-end fundraising drive has a goal of raising $30,000. All donations go directly into providing local journalism that strengthens our community at no cost to subscribers. Our first priorities are to hire a managing editor and to bring on two interns who can supplement our reporting and social media. We’d also like to create a quarterly printed version of the Herald, and to secure office space to become more accessible to you.

If you’ve been thinking about becoming a donor, this is absolutely the best time to do it. The Herald has partnered with NewsMatch, a national nonprofit collaborative fundraising movement that supports independent, public-service journalism. Thanks to our mutual campaign, we have an opportunity to make your contribution go much further.

From now until December 31, NewsMatch will match up to $13,000 of the funds you donate!

If you make a one-time gift, NewsMatch will double it, up to $1,000. If you sign up to donate monthly, NewsMatch will match each donation for the next 12 months (also up to $1,000). NewsMatch will also give the Herald a $500 bonus for every 50 new donors!

Your support will get our campaign off to a strong start and help keep the Herald  going in 2024 and beyond. If you believe in the work we’re doing, will you give today to double the impact of your donation?
