Marjorie Irene “Cookie” Pecorella of Pine Plains died on Oct. 3, 2023, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 71.
She was born in Oceanside, N.Y., the daughter of Raymond and Joan Pearsall, and was a graduate of Lynbrook High School. In the spring of 1967, she met her future husband, Bruce Pecorella, whom she married in 1973. They soon started a family and moved to Pine Plains, where they raised three children.
She was retired from the Pine Plains Central School District. She ran the Pine Plains Ski Club at the Catamount ski area and worked on Livestock Hill at the Dutchess County Fair for many years. She was passionate about the Pine Plains FFA and was a member of the school’s Ag Advisory Board until her death.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Bruce; their children, Bruce (Christina) of Scriba, N.Y., Mike (Maureen) of Lambertville, Mich., and Jaclyn (TJ) of Pine Plains; seven grandchildren, Savannah, Bruce, Brandon, Evan, Daniel, Greyson and Caroline; two sisters, Shirley and Frances; a niece, Amy; and a nephew, Robert. She was predeceased by her sister, Diane, and two brothers, Raymond and John.
The family asked that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association.
