Marilyn A. Francis, 96, died on Dec. 28, 2023, in Geneva, N.Y.
Francis taught French at Pine Plains Central School for 25 years.
She was born March 18, 1927, in New Hampshire, and had been predeceased by her husband, Robert Francis, who had served as PPCS superintendent. She is survived by a son, Mark (Kathleen) Francis; three grandsons Michael, David and Mathew, and 10 greatgrandchildren. Another son, Jay Francis, also died before her.
A graduate of the University of Vermont, she also had a master’s degree from Harvard University.
The family requested that donations in her name be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
