Janet Alice Russell died on July 24, in Middletown. She was 63.

Born on Feb. 17, 1961, in Tarrytown, N.Y., to John and Janet (Pollock) Craft, she grew up in Clinton Corners and attended school in Pine Plains.

Russell lived briefly in Poughkeepsie before returning to Pine Plains, where she was a member of the cafeteria staff in the local schools. 

Russell later moved to Glen Spey, N.Y.,  with her life partner, Gus Gilchrist. For a few years, she worked at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts and the Eldridge Diner.

Russell is survived by Gilchrist of Glen Spey; two sons, Teddy Mayhew and Michael Mayhew and daughter-in-law-to-be Morgan Moore of Ancramdale; a daughter, Amanda and son-in-law Nick Chieco, of East Greenbush; seven grandchildren: Collin, Billy, Brody, Lilly, Jackson, Skylar, and Brinley; five siblings: Mary VanKeuren (Steve) of Clinton Corners; Bonnie Craft of Ancram; Johnny Craft of Clinton Corners; Chris Craft and Beth Craft of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Russell was predeceased by her parents, ex-husbands, and her youngest son, Billy.

A celebration of life will be organized and announced at a later date.
