The Pine Plains girls varsity basketball team dropped a heartbreaker to Onteora, 48–46, on a basket in the final seconds of a fiercely contested game.

The matchup was intense from start to finish, with frequent fouls disrupting the flow and ultimately reshaping the closing minutes. Foul trouble sidelined two of Pine Plains’ top players, Giana Dormi and Neveah Rennie, late in the fourth quarter, forcing the Bombers to navigate the final possessions without key contributors.

Rennie led Pine Plains with 20 points, keeping her team within striking distance throughout the game with aggressive drives and timely scoring. Senior Michelle Blackburn added 10 points and was recently named the POJO Player of the Week, capping a strong stretch of play.

Despite the loss, Pine Plains battled through a physical contest that came down to the final possession, underscoring the team’s resilience in one of its most hard-fought games of the season.
