
Helen Gertrude Knickerbocker of Clinton Corners died on Nov. 22, at the age of 106, at The Baptist Home in Rhinebeck.
The daughter of Paul and Sophie Germond, she was born in the family home in Clinton Corners on April 15, 1918. She graduated from Pine Plains High School in 1936 and from the Vassar Nursing School in Poughkeepsie in 1940, after which she was a registered nurse at Vassar Hospital in the nursery and maternity departments.
She is survived by her four children: Barry (Leigh) Knickerbocker of Red Hook; Janice (John) Tremper, of Bangall; Jay (Kathy) Knickerbocker of Pine Plains: and John Knickerbocker of Clinton Corners. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Michele Nauta, Jennifer Funk, Roberta Jaggers, Andrew Knickerbocker, Sarah Staller, Natalie Spak and Aaron Knickerbocker; and by 11 great grandchildren: Matthew Funk, Adam Funk, Tyler Funk, Austin Hollifield, June Duffey, Robert Grillo, Gabriel Small, Sharlet Knickerbocker, Anna Jaggers, Madeleine Spak and Boden Spak.
Knickerbocker was predeceased by her brother, Roger Germond; her sister, Emily Germond; and Austin Knickerbocker, her husband of 56 years.
Private family services and a celebration of her life will be planned for a later date.

So sorry to learn of your Mother’s passing. As life would have it, I now recall that your Dad delivered oil to my house on Depot Lane. He would teach me some baseball basics – then I taught you two.
I was just 18 when I coached your LL team.
