Guy Richard Merriam of Pine Plains died on Sept. 1. He was 78.
Merriam was born July 17, 1946, in Brooklyn, the son of Olive (Irwin) Merriam and Harold Merriam. Merriam worked at the Beekman Arms for more than 25 years prior to his retirement.
Merriam is survived by his wife of 27 years, Nancy (Contone) Merriam; his son Jason (Michelle) Campbell and his 2 stepchildren, Lisa (Bill) Piro and Michele (John) Muller. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Joseph (Diana) Parisi, Meagan (Jack Morris) Brenner and Natalie Muller as well as by two great grandchildren, Daria and Eliana.
There will be no calling hours and a private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
