Sharon Cooper died on March 2 at her home in Stanfordville. She was 85.
Cooper was born in Des Moines, Iowa, to Howard and Kathryn (Collins) Hollingsworth. She was a beautician who owned and operated Sherry’s, in Clinton Corners for many years.
Cooper is survived by Jack Cooper, her husband of 65 years; a brother, Bob Hollingsworth of Hyde Park; two sisters-in-law, Laura Hollingsworth of Wappingers Falls and Mary Cooper of Sharon Station, Conn.; two cousins, Mike Fern of Schroon Lake, N.Y., and Dawn Miller of Fishkill; and her nephews and nieces Scott and Julieann Hollingsworth of Clinton Corners; Rob and Tammy Cooper of Millerton; Kelly (Hollingsworth) and Barry Muller of Wappingers Falls; Jimmy and Kim Cooper of Ancram; Tim and Sara Hollingsworth of Oswego, Ill.; Kathy Cooper of Melbourne, Fla.; Meg (Hollingsworth) Myers of Hyde Park; and Liz Cooper of East Hampton, Conn., as well as by many great nieces and nephews. A brother, Butch Hollingsworth, predeceased her.
The family plans a celebration of her life to be held in May at the Poughkeepsie Yacht Club; details will be announced.
