The Pine Plains Garden Club sponsored at the Community Room over the library on Sept. 16. She presented her lecture, Bulbs for All Seasons, and has graciously given us permission to reproduce her handout in the New Pine Plains Herald.
About 10 people attended the lecture. Although it was a small crowd, there were lots of questions and attendees came away enthusiastic to start fall planting. Club members are always willing to try new plantings and even have a second go at some of our less than successful attempts. This year was particularly challenging due to the spongy moth, early heat and excessive rain.
Linda gave out free samples of Siberian Squill which is the small, blue flower you see spreading across lawns in the spring.
