Gale K. Johnson of Stanfordville died on March 23 at Hudson Valley Hospice House in Hyde Park, N.Y. She was 75.
Johnson was born on Nov. 2, 1948, in Oceanside, N.Y., to Frank and Francis Shanley.
She married Gary Johnson on Jan. 20, 1974. The couple moved to Stanfordville in 1983. They enjoyed marriage for 49 years.
Johnson graduated from Marist College and then earned a masters degree in social work from Fordham University. She worked for the ARC of Westchester County until her retirement.
She is survived by her two sons, Ryan (Elisabeth Rogers) and Brendan (Deanna) Johnson; four grandchildren, Liam, Lilliana, Rocco and Domenica; and a sister, Susan Shanley. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Christine Shanley.
A funeral service was held at Peck and Peck Funeral Home on Thursday, March 28, followed by interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Pine Plains.
The family requested that donations in her memory be made to the Hudson Valley Hospice House.
