Frederick William Berliner of Ancram died on April 25. He was 81 years old.

Born in Queens on Aug. 26, 1943, to Herbert and Rosa Berliner, he grew up in Woodmere, N.Y.

Berliner worked as a financial trader. He helped start Russian equivalent of the Nasdaq exchange in Moscow.

Berliner married Lauranne Lydia Gray, known as Lori, in 1981. She survives him, as does a daughter, Hannah; three grandchildren, Aurora, Luke and Eddie, two sisters, Janet Erikson and Sally (Burt) Lewis; and a niece and two nephews. A daughter, Lydia, predeceased him, as did his identical twin brother, Christopher Berliner.

The family said a memorial service will be held at a future date. The family also requested that donations in Berliner’s name be made to a food bank of the donor’s choice.
