Pine Plains celebrated five Stissing Mountain High School seniors this week as they formally committed to play sports at the collegiate level. The signing ceremony, held on Wednesday, Nov. 12, in the high school gym and organized by the Bomber Booster Club, brought together families, coaches, and classmates for a brief but meaningful recognition of the students’ achievements.
The athletes will compete at five colleges across the Northeast. Hailey Lamping signed to play field hockey at Dean College, while fellow field hockey standout Olivia Osofsky committed to Russell Sage College.
In track and field, Daniel McPherson signed with SUNY Geneseo, and Violet Bliss committed to UMass Amherst. John Macri, a multisport athlete, will play lacrosse for Eastern University.
School leaders praised the seniors for their work ethic and leadership, noting that each athlete balanced demanding academic schedules with years of training and competition.
“The Bomber Boosters, Pine Plains Central School District, and our entire community are extremely proud of these five student athletes,” said Amy Baden, vice president of the Pine Plains Bomber Booster Club. “They have demonstrated hard work both on the field and in the classroom. We are all looking forward to watching their future achievements and wish each of them the best in their next adventure.”
