Elaine Wilma Fletcher, a longtime resident of Pine Plains, passed on July 27 in Palatine Bridge, New York. She was 90.  

Fletcher was born August 22, 1932 in Dumont, New Jersey to William A. and Christina (Kautt) Kretzschmar.  She had two siblings, William Kretzschmar (Barbara) and Marilyn Hendrickson (John Lars), both of whom predeceased her.  

She married William Guy Fletcher in 1955, and the couple settled in Pine Plains shortly after their marriage, raising five sons. She was a longtime employee of the Stissing National Bank in Pine Plains, and volunteered as a town elections clerk. She was also a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and was active with the Lions Club as well as other community and school events.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 2006, as well as by two of her sons, William B. Fletcher and Dale W. Fletcher, who died July 10 in Hudson.  

Fletcher is survived by three sons, Bradford T. Fletcher and his wife, Carol, of Eldora, Iowa; Mark S. Fletcher and his wife, Deb, of Cobleskill, New York; and Drew V. Fletcher and his wife, Judy, of Papillion, Nebraska. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

A memorial Mass will be held on August 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony’s. A reception will follow the memorial; the location will be announced at the service. Interment will take place at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains.
