Donald Robert MacLean of Ancram has died. He was 67. The cause was brain cancer.
MacLean was born on Feb. 14, 1957, in Brattleboro, Vt., the son of Robert Bears and Alma Were Maclean.
MacLean was the owner of Thompson-Finch Farm in Ancram. He also served on the planning board of the Town of Ancram for many years, including as chairman, and on the board of the Columbia Land Conservancy.
MacLean is survived by his wife, Marnie Barberi MacLean; a daughter Lila (Alex) Hochron; a daughter, Rose and her wife, Meghan; five grandchildren; three sisters, Susan Rose, Betty Ann Baker and Marcia Lynne MacLean; and cousins, nephews and nieces.
A gathering for MacLean will be held on March 1, 2025, at noon at the Copake Grange, 628 Empire Road, Copake, NY 12516.
The family asked that in lieu of flowers, donations in MacLean’s memory be made to Kim’s Hope, a nonprofit that helps patients and families dealing with a glioblastoma diagnosis and offers support for glioblastoma treatment, at www.kimshope.org; and that condolences be mailed to Marnie MacLean at Thompson-Finch Farm, 711 Wiltsie Bridge Road, Ancram, NY 12502.
