Charles McKown Napoli of Pine Plains died on April 10. He was 85.

Napoli was born on Jan. 13, 1940, to Moretta McKown and Carl A. Napoli.

He was a graduate of Pine Plains Central School, Manhattan College, and Fordham University Law School. He started his law career as an assistant attorney general for the New York State Division for Youth. After spending several years in California, he returned to Pine Plains and went into private practice until his retirement.

He is survived by two sisters, Moretta (Matthew) Salvia and Jane Casazza; two nieces, Daniele (Luke) Braham and Jennifer (John) Blackburn; and two nephews, Joseph Salvia and Edward (Tiffany) Casazza. He is also survived by great nieces and nephews Matthew, Brandon, and Brooke Salvia; Joseph, Jacoby, and Giuliana Braham; Tessa and Luke Blackburn; and Annalise and Edward Casazza. 

He was a member of Pine Plains Lions Club, International Order of Odd Fellows, Dutchess County Republican Committee, Dutchess County Bar Association, and New York State Bar Association.

There are no calling hours. A memorial mass and celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The family asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Pine Plains Lions Club.
