
Betty Marie (McGhee) Belliveau died on Dec. 9 in Salisbury, Conn. She was 89.
She was born on March 9, 1935, to Mildred (Wirehouse) and Collins S. McGhee, Sr., in Bethel, near Pine Plains. She also lived in Stanfordville and Amenia, attended Pine Plains High School.
She married Richard Belliveau in 1953. They lived on the Wethersfield estate in Amenia for 47 years, where she was the main housekeeper. She also worked at the Maplebrook School in Amenia and was a licensed hairdresser.
Belliveau is survived by her five children: Theresa (Robert) Brewer of Millerton; Jeffrey (Priscilla) Belliveau of Yanceyville, N.C.; Andrea (David) Lyle of Millerton; Joel (Mary) Belliveau of Millerton; and Jill (Stephen) Carroll of Amenia; 12 grandchildren: Nicholas Brewer, Emily Egan, Erin (Brandon) Burke, Rachael Belliveau, Aimee (Christopher) Ziegler, Trevor (Courtney) Lyle, Levi Belliveau, Aera Belliveau, Erika Belliveau, Stephen Carroll, Gavin (Alyssa) Carroll and Logan Carroll; by 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Belliveau was predeceased by her husband in 2014; as well as a great-granddaughter, Averi Burke; a brother, Collins McGhee Jr.; and a sister, Janice Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made in Belliveau’s memory to the employee Christmas Fund, Noble Horizons, 17 Cobble Road, Salisbury, Conn., 06068.
