
Anna Marie Danko of Stanfordville died on July 19. She was 92.
Danko was born in the Bronx on Nov. 7, 1933, the daughter of Donato and Theresa (Scariati) Bruno. She was married to Peter Frank Inserillo in 1957. That marriage ended in 1975 with his death. In 1980, she married John Danko. He died in 2023.
Danko graduated from Walton High School in the Bronx in 1951, and then worked for IBM for 30 years. She also volunteered at Ferncliff Nursing Home for 32 years and was the first woman to serve as her division president of the Lions Club. She was also a recipient of Stanford’s Distinguished Citizen Award.
Danko is survived by three children from her first marriage, Joanne Inserillo, Peter (Christian) Inserillo and Robert (Katherine) Inserillo. She is also survived by a stepson, Robert (Katherine) Danko. Another stepson, Johnny Danko, died in 2024. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Daniel, Jacqueline, Analiese, Melissa, Peter, Cassandra, Rachel, Anthony, Jennifer, David, James, Katrina, as well as by great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be on July 26 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Wm. G. Miller and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on July 27 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, 11 Clinton St., Wappingers Falls.
