
Anga L. Nielsen died on Oct. 18 at her home at the Fountains of Millbrook. She was 85.
Nielsen was born on Oct. 16, 1938, on a farm in Neelyville, Mo., the daughter of Ollie Mae (Trentelman) and Paul Feguson. She came to New York as a child and was raised in Larchmont.
She married Laurits “Larry” Nielsen, a state trooper, in 1964, and moved to Pine Plains to start a family. They eventually moved to Stanfordville, where they lived for almost 50 years and where she was a member and past president of the Stanford Lions Club. Her husband died in 2018.
Nielsen is survived by her children, Vivian Walsh of Pine Plains, whose husband, Kevin, is a member of the Pine Plains Town Board, and Redmond Nielsen of Berlin, Germany; and her grandchildren, Kyle Walsh (Tyler Mikels) of Utica, N.Y., and Paige Walsh of Newport, V.T.
Visiting hours will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Oct. 27 at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 S. Main Street, Pine Plains, where a funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m.
