
Kathryn “Kit” Pell Koerner died on Sept. 28. She was 73.
Koerner was born on March 22, 1953, in Brooklyn to Frank and Kathryn Pell. She spent her childhood in Brooklyn and Long Island before moving to Pleasantville, N.Y., where she graduated from high school.
Koerner earned a degree from Mount St. Mary’s College in Newburgh, N.Y., and worked for 25 years as a house manager for the State of New York Taconic Developmental Disabilities Services Office.
In 1984, she married Michael Koerner, in Pine Plains.
Koerner is survived by her husband; three stepchildren: Michael Koerner, Rachel Koerner and Casey (Kenneth Beneke) Koerner Swift; five grandchildren: Daniel James, Reghan Anderson, Hayden Josephine, Michael Asencio and Nora Margaret. A granddaughter, Grace Lennon, died before her.
The family said a private celebration of her life will be held with family. In lieu of flowers, they suggested donations to The Animal Farm Foundation, P.O. Box 624, Bangall, N.Y. 12506.
