Our Tax Status

The Pine Plains Local Journalism Project Inc., which publishes the New Pine Plains Herald, is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC). 

Donors can deduct contributions made to the Herald or to PPLJP Inc. under IRC Section 170. 

The effective date of exemption is Oct. 4, 2022. For those who have not yet filed 2022 taxes, deductions can be applied retroactively.
