
Frieda Bloodgood, of Stanfordville, died on Aug. 18 at Northern Dutchess Hospital. She was 104.
Bloodgood was born on Nov. 9, 1919, in Dietlingen, Germany, the daughter of Heinrich and Christine (Knodel) Rau. She married Clarence Bloodgood in Queens, N.Y., on March 8, 1952. He predeceased her.
Bloodgood was a homemaker and an active member of the Women’s Fellowship at the United Church of Christ.
She is survived by her son John and his wife, Ellen, Bloodgood, of South Carolina; 11 grandchildren: Jason (Katie) Bloodgood; Keith (Kelly) Hegarty; Heidi (Kenny) Bathrick; Eugene (Cady) Bloodgood; Christina (Fred) Swartz; Michelle (Jason) Campbell; Kelly Fancher (Terry Benson); John (Nicole) Bloodgood; Amanda (Travis) Angelo; Matthew (Ainsley Evans) Bloodgood; and Sarah (Casey) Sullivan. She is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren: Reagan, Declan, McKenna, Kyler, Alyssa, Liam, Emma, Wyatt, Kimberly, Lara, Emmet, Julia, Estelle, Ava, Zoe, Cole, Ryder, Keegan, Carter, Corbin, Ellis and John. She is also survived by family in the United States and Germany.
She was predeceased by her sons Charles (Connie) Bloodgood and Eugene (Kim) Bloodgood and her eight siblings.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations in Bloodgood’s memory be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105.
