New Trail to Stissing Fire Tower Celebrated Tomorrow, Sept. 30
From 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 30, at the Thompson Pond Preserve on Lake Road, in Pine Plains, you are invited to join in the celebration as a new trail to the Stissing Fire Tower is inaugurated. Ag Fair Nears
Flower show, car meet, antique tractor pull, cow pie raffle, farm animal showmanship and judging, and much more will all be on display Oct. 6 & 7 at the Pine Plains FFA Ag Fair. If you’ve never been to this traditional event, put on by the Pine Plains Future Farmers of America, it is something not to be missed. And this year, festivities on Saturday will be topped off with fireworks!

Stissing House Touted Again in the New York Times
On Sept. 21, Eric Asimov’s column, “The Pour” in the New York Times, was entitled “Where to Drink in the Hudson Valley.” Stissing House was one of seven restaurants given praise. All six others are located in Hudson. Asimov wrote that the Pine Plains establishment offers oenophiles “opportunities to splurge on slightly older vintages.”
