The PE&NR Railroad is curtailing expenses. Not only has the pay of employees been reduced but stations have been closed and the station agent dispensed with. The station at Gallatin is closed up and it was intended to abandon the one at Mt. Ross, but it is said that Mr. Vanbenschoten, who carries on the business of shoemaking, offered to do the company’s business for the use of their building, so the station at that place is continued.
