Nancy Jane Haley of Elizaville died on Jan. 28. She was 72.
Haley was born on July 4, 1952, in Poughkeepsie, and was raised by her adoptive parents, Cornell and Betty (Brownly) McFadden.
Haley earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Northern Colorado. She worked for many years as a special education teacher with United Cerebral Palsy and The Children’s Annex, in Kingston, N.Y., and also taught in New Paltz, N.Y. She was also a dog breeder, specializing in cocker spaniels, showing them and running a kennel.
Haley is survived by her husband, Michael Haley of Elizaville, whom she married on June 24, 1995; a brother, David (Robin) McFadden, and an extended family.
A celebration of her life will be announced later.
